Blueberry Blend Smoothie

This is my favorite smoothie recipe of all time! I have to consciously force myself not to make it every single morning. For my last birthday my family gifted me a Vitamix blender. It’s amazingly powerful and makes a creamy smoothie. Before that, I used my Cuisinart every morning. If you have a stick blender that will also work.

Ingredients

1 c frozen blueberries

Small handful of frozen raspberries (about 1/4 cup)

1 c nut milk (I use almond milk)

1 cup fresh spinach

1-2 T raw cacao nibs

Optional: I usually add a tablespoon of ground flax seed and hemp seed.

Directions:

  1. Blend the spinach and nut milk together first until the greens are smooth.
  2. Add in blueberries, raspberries, cacao nibs, and optional ingredients. I like my smoothies a little on the warmer side, so I let it defrost for 30 minutes or so.
  3. Blend and drink!

Tips:

Because I like to have a little extra protein for breakfast I usually eat a rice cake with almond butter with my smoothie.

Raw cacao nibs can be found in most health food stores like Whole Foods. If you live in Madison, I get mine in the bulk section of Willy St. Coop.
